Memorial in Moordown for the Halifax Bomber Crew
A true community project comes to fruition with the fixing of a memorial to commemorate the crew of a Halifax Bomber and two local residents, who died in March 1944; the memorial will be officially unveiled on Sunday 10th July.
The bomber crashed in Moordown causing the deaths of all seven people onboard. Recently a concerted effort by local people culminated in the creation of a memorial and permission being granted for it to be placed near to the scene of the crash.
Alan Rice & Tapper Funeral Service is delighted to have been involved in this exciting community project and through its stonemasonry office, Living Stones Memorials, to have had the privilege of constructing the memorial at below wholesale cost. Alan Rice commented 'The memorial looks absolutely fabulous; I am very proud to have been associated with this project.'
