Father's Day Memorial Service
There was standing room only at Harbour Lodge yesterday as in excess of 25 families commemorated the father in their families at the Remembrance Service. John Taylor led a simple service that touched on the origins of celebrating Father's Day and the role of the father figure in society.
As would be expected a number of children were in the congregation; John kept their interest with a chocolate bar competition.
A bright morning allowed people to spend some time enjoying the peaceful environment after tea and cake had been enjoyed by all.
One of the families commented: 'I just wanted to say how lovely the service was yesterday for Fathers Day. Although it was a very emotional day, this was a very nice tribute to those who have passed.'
